    Cycle Lane

São Brás de Alportel, Portugal, 2017

A small slice of heaven, São Brás de Alportel in the Algarve region of Portugal is nothing short of a gem. In the afternoons, the square is inhabited by the local men, playing chess, drinking coffee and eating shredded chicken pies.

Although cars are still a regular sight, many of the locals commute via bicycle and the town has committed to their preferred method of transport with tidy bike lanes to accompany the narrow roads around the town.

Who needs a car when you have the beautiful Portuguese sun to travel in.

    Paul Stringer
